The Home Workout DVD Boom - Discover Why Home Workout DVDs Are Not Just A Fad
Everybody needs to exercise, but there are so many different ways you can go about it. Some people like to go for a jog in the park. Long walks are also an old favorite that you see a lot. Going to the gym is one of the most popular options these days, especially for people in crowded city centers.
Then there are those people who prefer to work out at home in the comfort of their living room or basement. Fortunately for people who enjoy working out at home, exercise DVDs are more popular than ever. There are hundreds out there already available, including the GSP workout DVD series, Insanity, P90X, and countless celebrity faces on home fitness DVDs. It can actually be a tough choice for you to make, which home fitness course is right for you.
How To Decide On Your Home Fitness Course
It's not uncommon for someone to have a small but growing collection of home fitness workout DVDs already at home. When it comes down to it, the choice you should make if you already have a small collection is down to what best complements your existing DVDs. You have the experience to know what works well for you. Knowing which exercises you enjoy and can get through on a regular basis helps you know what to look for in the future.
If you are new and have no fitness DVDs yet, then you need to decide what kind of person you are. Of course many programs are targeted at the male market, including the George St Pierre workout program Rushfit and P90x, there are numerous fitness workout DVDs just for women, and then of course all the celebrity endorsed workouts.
Your best bet is to try one that you like the look of. There are many DVDs that are very cheap, and then there are some that have higher production values and come with nutrition guides and training calendars to really help motivate you, but at a higher cost. It's all down to you. At workout reviews, you are able to compare and contrast several workouts and learn which might be a good fit for you.
Does the P90X Extreme Home Fitness Workout really work and what items are needed for it?
Have you tried the p90x?
What were your results?
Was it hard and challenging?
Is it worth the money?
Would you recommend it?
What items do you need?
I understand that you need weights, a pull up bar, and resistance bands.
For the weights and resistance bands how many pounds are needed?
Should I get 5 lbs, 10 lbs, or 15 lbs resistance bands? Or more? (I am a beginner)
Does the program let you know what weight you should start out with?
Any other details that you can give from your experience is appreciated.
I was thinking about purchasing it and so I'm doing some research.
Your reviews on the p90x will be helpful.
I really truly appreciate your feedback! It helps!
Thanks!
The p90x workouts are great.
I started out being out of shape (not fat, just out of shape) and was able to get a great set of abs and strong arms and back as well. I'm very pleased with the results I got.
It's a very difficult workout, particularly for a beginner. But as they say, no pain no gain.
It's very much worth the money (if you feel it isn't, I'm sure you can find somewhere to download it for free *wink wink nudge nudge*)
I would recommend it to anyone who is trying to get into shape. It works very well.
You need weights or resistance bands, a pull up bar, and maybe a mat and a yoga block.
The program doesn't let you know how much you should start with. whether you do weights or resistance bands, I would try to get a large set so that you will be prepared for when you go up in a weight class. For most of the exercises, at the beginning, I used 15 or 20 pound weights.
In my opinion, this is perhaps the best workout video set there is, but you have to put in the work for it. It may be a good idea to get a workout buddy to do it with you. I found that I always tried harder when there was someone else doing it with me. If you do it with someone else, they can help you also by telling you if you're doing it with the right form (which is VERY important) or not.
I did P90X with my older brother, and we had a great time making it part of our morning routine, and we found a lot of the things people say on the videos to be funny... that may just be because we would joke about the videos or the people in them though.
Good luck!
