Four Great Methods Of Handling, Storing And Protecting Your Valuable Sports Cards
Sports cards are prone to damage that can reduce their worth. They should be handled by holding at the edges, with your hands clean, and kept away from sunlight and moisture. Using thicker cases also helps, as does organizing them in boxes.
Even the smallest blemish on a sports trading card can cause a decrease in its value. The items should be handled carefully and kept in storage boxes that prevent damage and keep them in mint condition. Here are simple, yet very helpful tips for handling and storing your valuable sports cards to maintain their worth:
Make sure your hand aren’t dirty when you touch your sport cards
Be sure to hold your more valuable sports cards in the proper manner in order to protect them. With clean hands, take hold of the cards on their edges, not on their face or back. This is important to be certain that corners remain sharp and that there are few other instances of damage. Your sports cards will be free from unsightly disfigurations if you handle it carefully.
Be sure to store your cards where they won’t be damaged by humidity or sunlight
Factors such as sun exposure and moisture may cause your cards to fade or otherwise discolor over time. Protect your cards from sunlight, while displaying them, because they may fade and decrease the value of your autographed cards (as well as your other cards). Plus, they need to be kept away from moisture that can damage, discolor, or degrade the cards. To control the moisture in the sports card holder, collectors can put desiccants such as silica gel to keep their sports cards in great conditions.
Make sure you get thick cases to protect your cards
While plastic sleeves provide basic protection for your sports cards, thicker and harder cases are recommended for the greatest protection from possible scratches, creases, and dings for more valuable sports cards. These are the kinds of sports cards holders that are used most frequently
Loading from the top A top-loader is similar to a sleeve but somewhat thicker and stiffer. It is a method that is frequently utilized to avoid damage to sports cards. One problem with a top-loader is that dust and debris can fall inside. The card will slip because of the loose fit. When shipping a card using a top-loader, you can use a resealable sports card bag that will enclose the entire top-loader.
Semi-rigid card holder. Although the plastic case is thicker than the common sleeves, it still provides more flexibility than a top loader. It fits nicely on your sports card to constrict movement and it is great for shipping. The display case looks great holding your collectibles.
A card holder held down by screws In order to protect your valuable collectors sports cards from damage, you need to place them in a sports card case. Your card gets secured firmly in the case by being screwed down at each corner. Ensure that you select the correct thickness for your sports cards since there have been cases where the design of the sports cards stuck to the case, particularly those that have been set for quite a long time.
A case that is magnetized. A different option from the screw-down style holder would be the magnetic case. It provides comparable protection to the screw-down holder, but instead of the four screws locking the card, it only uses one circular magnet on the upper part of the case. This design feature makes it a good option for displaying your valuable sports cards.
Holder made from acrylic This is both the most costly and the thickest of all the sports card cases available. It offers the ultimate protection for your valuable sports cards with up to an inch of acrylic.
Boxes should be used to arrange your sports cards
Other valuable cards you intend to display should be kept organized in a box. A simple box such as one that held shoes will work or you can purchase a more specific type of card holder from a sports memorabilia shop. Sorting trays are also available to keep your collection better organized. Never store valuable sports cards in your box without any protection. Consistently use a top-loader to keep your most valuable cards safe. Plastic sleeves will protect sports or base cards.
Sport cards are something valuable that you can collect and invest in. Regardless of your motivation for collecting sports cards, it is important to take care of them in order to protect their value.

Motorola Droid 4 Review: This Keyboard Rocks, But That’s About It (crunchgear?)
The Droid 4 doesn't look much like its other Droid siblings, but it does
promise the same stellar keyboard and a solid construction. At $199 it won't
break your wallet, but it will offer most of the same specs we're seeing go
for $300, including a 4G LTE radio. If thin and light is important to you, the
Droid 4 probably isn't what you're looking for, but keyboard purists should
start getting excited... right... now.
