MMA Tips- Need Your MMA Equipment Washed? 5 Simple Things You Can Do

Maryland jujitsu schools that teach mixed martial arts use a lot of equipment. You can't expect to get the best MMA training if you don't have the right equipment. You should own handwraps, gloves, headgear, shin pads, and clothes. You are accountable for the care of all of your equipment. When you get done with a really intense workout you are usually sweaty and stinky. Taking a shower after every practice to stop infections sounds like common sense; however, it is forgotten by some people. Ringworm and staph infections are serious especially staph because people have been known to die from it. You wouldn’t be able to train till the infection is gone because it is highly contagious.

If you are all stinky and sweaty then your equipment has to be as well. If you put your equipment into you gym bag and just leave them in there until your next training session then you are just asking to catch something infectious one day. Some of the top MMA in MD schools do whatever they can to avoid infectious outbreaks. There are step and precautions that you can follow to prevent catching an infection. The first thing you can do is shower daily after every workout. The second way is to simply wrap your hands with handwraps before putting on your boxing gloves. The hand wraps will not only protect your knuckles, but they will absorb the sweat so your boxing gloves don’t develop a funky smell to them. Since your hand wraps will be absorbing sweat you have to wash them often. If you don't have a mesh gym bag you have to make sure you empty your bag so it can be aired out. That will prevent bacteria from breeding.

Keeping all your equipment in a bag will just give the bacteria a breeding ground to grow on plus it will also stink up your bag. Even fighters who get MMA training in MD hate the smell of stinky equipment. The fourth thing you can do is take a disinfectant wipe and wipe down all your equipment. The importance of washing your clothes after working out can't be stressed enough. Your workout clothes need to be washed immediately if they are damped from sweat because the odor will be harder to get out the longer you wait.
